>PA Senate Bill 1300

>

Could 1300 be our lucky number? Today State Senator John Rafferty officially filed legislation (PA Senate Bill 1300) to overhaul the state’s out of date and anti-consumer beer laws that do not allow six pack sales in grocery stores or distributorships.

If passed, the bill will also require all retailers to acquire and use Electronic Age Verification systems like those already in place in many bars, six pack stores, and distributorships to help reduce underage drinking.

    >It will put the little guy out just like Wall Mart and Home Depot did. And now we're stuck with them.

    >Nah it won't. People will still go to distributors for their beers. It's not like you're going to be able to get Westmalle and St. Bernardus in gas stations and WAWAs. You'll see them in Wegmans and Whole Foods, but they're there now! Plus in a grocery store, you'll never get the service that you'll get in a distributor. I think that some may fall, but they will still prevail. It happens in other states that have dist. and grocery. They will co-exist and things will be ok.

    >BOO, this is a step in the demise of Beer distributors!!!!
